Ostia Antica – The bogan version of Pompeii

About an hour out of town is a “little” place called Ostia Antica which was one of Rome’s main seaports for a time. I call it the bogan version of Pompeii because it’s not as shiny, it’s a bit run down and some of the lawns in amongst the buildings could hide a small child. However, it’s a nice escape from the city and a way to meander through a more gritty, well preserved Roman town. Continue reading
